STRATEGY HANDBOOK

Here are the tips of strategy that we use to be strong in the wars:

1) WHO WE SHOULDN'T ATTACK:

  • A) DON'T ATTACK THE ATTACKERS FIRST
  • This is because, till there aren't more non-attacking players, the attackers will benefit from being attacked. How? Because each building destroyed allows them to rebuild and quickly get a cheap war item, much cheaper than those bought at the war items shop. We should make their life harder, not giving them the chance to get cheap attacks. Of course if an attacker is the last player without a barrier over him, attacking him is the only way.
  • B) DON'T ATTACK THE BOSSES (President/Vices) FIRST
  • This is because we assume that the bosses are more active, and active players are a threat to us: they will attack back or immediately share their items to let the other attacks. The attack line is consequent to the career line: 1) Member 2) Senior 3) Vice 4) President. It's possible, anyway, that a very skilled team could reverse the roles to try to fool their opponents. The standard countermeasure for it is inverting the attack line.
  • C) DON'T ATTACK THE REBUILDING ONES FIRST
  • Attacking someone that is rebuilding means, of course, attacking someone who is online. This gives him the chance to rebuild fast, share items, counterattack. So, before choosing what player to attack, it's wise to check that he's not rebuilding (checking his status for a little while or also checking his war log).

2) WHO WE SHOULD ATTACK
  • A) ATTACK THE LITTLE ONES FIRST (less populated)
  • They are supposed to have a little budget, little storage and so less possibilities to rebuild fast and share the war items fast. Also, they are more likely to be accounts left alone, since it's more rare that an old player leaves the game instead of a very new one.
Another useful observation could be about the names of the opponents' cities. There are some default names like "Rising Sun City" or "Plunder Point". It's possible to assume that someone who didn't even change the name of his city, will be less active.
  • B) ATTACK THE PLAYERS WITH 0 ATTACK POINTS FIRST
  • They are supposed to be inactive till now, since they didn't attack, so it gets more chances to see them inactive even later. Also, check the tip about not attacking the attackers.
  • C) ATTACK THE MEMBERS BEFORE THE BOSSES
  • Just check the tip about not attacking bosses, and you'll get why.

3) HOW SHOULD WE BEHAVE WHEN ATTACKING?
  • A) BEFORE ATTACKING, LET'S COORDINATE IN CHAT
  • This is an overall golden rule. Very important to take care of. The President/VicePresidents should be very skilled with this strategy "handbook", so they should help everyone choosing who to attack. Let's anyway accept questions or ideas, and discuss them as long as it has a sense to do it. The final word, anyway, should be spoken by the highest in rank.
  • B) HOW TO OPTIMIZE THE DAMAGE? ATTACKING TOGETHER!
  • Optimizing the damage means essentially dealing the most damage we can, letting the enemy get the less cheap war items he can. The procedure is simple. The attacks should be coordinated over the chosen target till the target has only 100 damage points left. Then we should hit him with the strongest attack we have at the moment (600, 700, 800 or 900+ points). This way the attacked opponent will have 10 buildings destroyed, but we will have dealt more than 1000 points of damage. This means that a part of our attacks won't fund our opponent's rebuilding and cheap getting war items. [example: 3 of our members attack the same target at the same time, dealing 400 + 400 + 100 damage; then, when the chosen opponent is left with 100 points, another of our members uses his strongest attack to deal 700 damage to the same player; this way he will rebuild 10 buildings, but we dealt him 1600 damage, so 600 of our points won't help him to get cheap war items]
A second but not secondary effect of this way of attacking is that the opponents that, given some damage we can deal to our opponents, it will take more time to end up the opponents we can attack, a very useful thing especially if you consider that some opponents "hide behind the shield" and at some point there could be noone to attack (read below to understand better).

4) HOW SHOULD WE BEHAVE WHEN DEFENDING?
  • A) THE USE OF SHIELDS
  • The shield prevents a player from being attacked and from counterattacking till he doesn't totally rebuild 1000 damage (10 buildings damage). This instrument can show itself to be a problem or a help. There's a strategy called "hiding behind the shields" and it's used from some players who get out of the shield only when they're sure that they can immediately deal a lot of damage (having 10-12 energy ready).
  • B) THE USE OF SHIELD IN THE GOOD TIMES: DON'T HIDE BEHIND THE SHIELDS
  • When all the cities are fine and noone or very few cities have a barrier, it has no sense to hide behind the shield, since you know you are active, so, if you get attacked instead of maybe less active teammates, the whole team benefits of it, because you can get and share cheap war items rebuilding. In this case, and assuming that the battle isn't bringing anyone under the barrier soon, we can say that everyone should rebuild as fast as he can
  • C) THE USE OF SHIELD IN THE BAD TIMES: HIDE BEHIND THE SHIELDS
  • When most of the cities are covered with barriers and those players aren't active, it has some sense to start "hiding behind the shields", since the enemies will have problems finding new targets, and some enemies could have to go offline without attacking. In this case the players should hide behind the shields, at least until they can attack with full energy. Just imagine this scenario: all your teammates and you are behind the shield, and some opponent isn't. You are in advantage with total points. Why rebuild just to attack and give them the chance to attack back and maybe deal more damage than you? Your match is already won! Or it could be worth, in case of little disadvantage, to try to get out from the shields just at the final minute, to deal all damage in that moment and surprise the opponents, winning the match while they can't react.

5) INDIVIDUAL GOALS AND INDIVIDUAL PREPARATION
  • A) THE WAR CHESTS
  • Unlocking the war chests is the main individual goal in the war. The most important wars chest are given to those who deal a lot of damage points and they can contain cards (which you can use to unlock new attack or to enforce with bonuses the one you can already use), simoleons, keys or simcash. The individual goal of unlocking chests shouldn't put in risk the team goal to win the battle. For example, if the whole team is hiding behind the barrier because the team is winning and can avoid fighting more, risking this victory getting out of the barrier just to achieve the next war chest can be very selfish. Let's try to balance the individual goals with the team goals, but in case of contrast between them, let's do what is the best for everyone.
A very important thing to say is that, if you plan to play this game long, you should try to put a lot of efforts to unlock as many new attacks you can, and to upgrade the ones you already have. Once you have new attacks, you will be able to use more war items (good for using the cheap ones you can find) and once you have upgraded attack, you will dear more damage with less war items, becoming a very strong weapon on the battlefield.
    The ordinary chests are BRONZE (100, 500, 1000), SILVER (2000, 4000, 8000) and GOLD (12000, 16000, 22000)
  • B) THE STORAGE PREPARATION
  • The storage should be ready, during war, with a few items for every kind, especially the ones more rare to find. Ofc it's good to have previously found war items. Also the commercial buildings can be full with already produced rare items, and the raw factories too.
Very commonly requested items for rebuilding are nails and planks. A very coordinated team would divide items and assign their production to 2-3 different members, asking them to put group of 5 items like that unadvertised in their shops, so everyone always knows where to buy an item he is searching for. But this is like the 7th heaven of coordination.
